Speedway Christmas

November 22-January 5 from 6-10 p.m. at Charlotte Motor Speedway

Speedway Christmas returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway, bigger and better than ever! The 10th edition of Charlotte’s spectacular drive-through light show features more than 4 million lights throughout the 3.75-mile course. The family-friendly Christmas Village is also open Thursday through Sunday nights and every night from December 12-29.

Gingerbread Lane

December 4-26 at Ballantyne Hotel

Enjoy a stroll through Ballantyne Hotel’s Gingerbread Lane throughout the month of December, with donations benefiting Levine Children’s Hospital. Cast your vote for your favorite gingerbread house, enjoy hot cocoa with friends, and soak in the holiday season.

Santa at OMB Christmas Market

Santa will be making several appearances at Olde Mecklenburg Brewing 8th Annual Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Market). Friday, December 6 from 4:30-8 p.m. and Saturday, December 21 from 2-5 p.m., come experience the Christmas Market with Santa Claus himself! The market will host 40+ vendors each weekend. Christmas in Davidson

December 5-7 in Downtown Davidson

Downtown Davidson transforms into a magical Christmas Wonderland for the weekend of Christmas in Davidson. Take a ride on the trolley, stroll down Main Street, start your holiday shopping at the unique specialty shops, take a journey through the Holiday Village and enjoy a wide variety of entertainment! A community parade will also travel through downtown on Saturday.

Tega Cay Tree Lighting

Saturday, December 7 at 6 p.m. at Phillip T. Glennon Center

Celebrate the holiday season with the Tega Cay tree lighting followed by Santa Claus arriving to town on the Tega Cay Fire Department Truck. Following the ceremony, Santa will be in the Hearth Room in the Glennon Center for pictures and to hear Christmas wishes from the younger children. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served.

Queen City Christmas Festival

Saturday, December 7 from 1-5 p.m. at Carole A. Hoefener Community Services Center

The 2019 Queen City Christmas Expo is the perfect holiday experience. Free pictures with Santa, free toy giveaway for the kids, free gift wrapping, christmas arts and crafts, ornament decoration and more! Vendors, entertainment, food, and more are available at this free event.

3rd Annual Christmas Light Boat Parade

Saturday, December 21 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Blythe Landing

Nothing says Christmas on the Lake more than decorated boats full of toys and neighbors looking to give back! All proceeds from the event go to Little Smiles, a local organization that supports children with cancer and other life impacting diseases. Guests are asked to bring an unwrapped toy. The route will start at Blythe Landing, passing Ramsey Creek and ending at the Duke Energy Explorium.

Dual Grand Menorah Lighting

Sunday, December 22 at 5 p.m at SouthPark Mall

This year's Menorah lighting at Southpark Mall will have a new and exciting twist with a Grand Laffy Taffy Menorah in Circle Court. At 6 p.m., guests will venture outside to light a Giant Graffiti Menorah together outside of the mall.

1st Night Menorah Lighting and Donut Truck

Sunday, December 22 from 4-6 p.m. at Temple Kol Tikvah of Lake Norman

Join the Jewish community of Lake Norman welcome the holiday of Hanukkah with a communal Menorah Lighting, Hanukkah Goodies, and a Donut Truck. Guests are asked to RSVP online.

Kwanzaa for Community

Friday, December 27 from 1-3 p.m. at Beatties Ford Road Regional Library

Learn more about Kwanzaa and explore the meaning of the holiday with April Turner. Turner’s goal is to build community, facilitate cultural education and inspire constructive conversation about social concerns through art. More information and registration details can be found online.
